Our customers for this project had just recently moved into a large property with a very old orangeries located at the rear of the building. The building looked lovely, it looked like it was built around the late 1800’s but it was quite large! The customers didn’t like the look of their old wooden orangeries and wanted something more modern and sleek. The only thing about this project that could’ve gone better was the weather! From the first day when we started tearing out their old orangeries, the weather was dreadful, just constant heavy rain, which made it much harder to tear something so large out of the ground, the groundwork was flooded and we kept trying to un-flood it whilst continuing to de-construct their old building. But once we got it all out, we decided to pop up a large umbrella around the construction area, as we didn’t want to cope with what was going wrong in the earlier stage.
Once we had the groundwork re-layered down (it had worn away and rotted a little as it was all wooden), we started to build the frames for the building, this was much easier than the first step, mostly due to the weather not being too bad on us (just clouds!!), we had the orangeries built within the second day and it was looking great! The customer also requested if we’d move in the furniture for them, we didn’t get paid for moving in the furniture, but we did it anyway because all of our customers are valuable ones and they made us some lovely brews throughout the two days, we just couldn’t say no!
The customer was very happy with the end result and they even got us a little thank you present for doing such a great job, myself and the team were overjoyed with the reaction we got from our project!
